As you may already know, I have a 3 year old daughter whom I call Elle (which is how I came up with my blog name… Homemade for Elle <3). She is my only child, and my first real experience being around young minds. I am continually amazed and entertained by the things that she does and says. She is so smart and man is she busy!
Since entertaining a 3 year old is new territory for me, I love getting help from veteran moms. When I had the opportunity to review a box from Citrus Lane, I jumped at the opportunity!
If you haven’t heard of Citrus Lane before, they are a company that started out in July 2011, and are now the largest monthly box service to parents in the US. Citrus Lane was started by moms to help new parents discover the best products and brands for their children. I personally appreciate that they work with reputable companies, like Honest Co, Skip Hop and Plum Organics.
Citrus Lane sent me a box for Elle to review, and she was beyond excited to learn the box in the mail was just for her! Let’s take a peek inside and see what she received:
We love Annie’s products in my house. Their products don’t contain artificial flavors, synthetic colors or preservatives, and they’re ingredients are real and organic! Their cheddar bunnies are made with organic wheat flour and real aged cheddar that is produced from cows that aren’t treated with the growth hormone rBST. It’s a great snack to add to Elle’s lunch, especially in this convenient snack size.
Let me start by saying I barely had time to photograph this, before Elle hauled it off and refused to let me see it. It’s filled with pictures that children can color, and comes with 6 colored markers in a reusable case for convenience. I plan on putting this in my car and keeping it for use in restaurants or public places where I need Elle to behave. She loves to color, so this can easily keep her preoccupied for an hour or so. It would also be perfect for road trips!
Remember that time, before you had kids, where you could clean your house and it would stay clean for at least a day or two? It’s a fleeting memory for me now. My child is a little germ and dirt magnet. She stores rocks in her pockets, food on the bottom of her shoes, and thinks it’s “fun” to pick up pieces of trash off the ground, wherever we are. While I have learned to relax about a little mess in my house, I try to be diligent about keeping her hygienic, and that means wiping off her hand and face frequently. But, I don’t want to expose her delicate skin to harsh chemicals and toxic ingredients. CleanWell has created biodegradable wipes that are alcohol-free and free from harsh chemicals, while killing unwanted germs.
Did I mention that Elle LOVES puzzles? Barefoot Books believes in empowering children through the love of reading. This two-in-one box contains two separate 12-piece puzzles, in a durable box that can store the puzzle pieces when not in use. Elle had a lot of fun putting together the puzzles and enjoyed pointing out the tractor and animals!
Bandaids are kind of like magic. And my child really, really likes them. On the rare occasion, Elle does actually stumble and scrape her knee, which requires a bandaid, but the other 90% of the time, she just thinks they’re fun. Even imaginary boo-boos need attention, so we keep a well-stocked medicine cabinet of assorted bandaids. These adorable Ouchies Jr. bandaids feature Olivia scenes, and Elle went wild over them. She told me that she had a boo-boo on her forehead (an imaginary one), so we fixed her right up with an Olivia bandaid.
