Ecocentric Mom provided me with a free sample of this product to review, and I was under no obligation to review it if I so chose. Nor was I under any obligation to write a positive review in return for the free product.
Some fun things have been happening around the home front. My husband and I were thrilled to find out we are expecting a new little blessing soon! Elle is thrilled to become a big sister, and she has been helping take care of me while I’ve been struggling through the first few months of pregnancy.
When my Ecocentric Mom-to-Be box arrived, I was excited to see what treats were in this month’s box! I have been in need of a little pampering lately, and it can be such a challenge to navigate the beauty/home market, trying to figure out what is safe during pregnancy. I love this box, because it’s already been pre-screened for pregnancy, and is introduces me to products that make my home, beauty routine, and diet a little healthier for me and my precious cargo.

To be perfectly honest, I usually cruise past the isles that contain facial masks, and opt to make my own. There are so many questionable ingredients in products these days… but 7th Heaven is different. Their masks are made from 100% natural ingredients. This Detox Mud deep pore cleansing masque is made from natural ingredients that are great for your skin: bentonite clay, aloe vera, shea butter, glacial clay, dead sea mud, and white tea leaf extract.
This mask smells wonderfully fresh and minty. I could easily get two uses out of one pack. If you don’t have the money to get a facial, this is a much cheaper way to get a fresh face at home.
$1.19 for 1oz pack (included). $0.50 retail coupon included in box.
I have been a huge fan of Annie’s products for a couple years now, and I actually have a box of their cheddar snack mix in my desk at work. Annie’s products are great, because they deliver convenience in to-go snacks, without the artificial flavors, synthetic colors and preservatives. Most of their products are organic, and they even have a line of gluten-free products.
I love the cheddar bunnies, and Elle loves the pretzels, so this is a snack we love to share!
I received a wonderfully fragrant organic spice blend that pairs well with sensitive greens. It’s made with amchur powder, sea salt, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and chilies. This seasoning is free from MSGs.
I have never cooked with amchur powder before (made from dried green mangoes), but the spice blend’s fragrance is reminiscent of Indian food, and I can’t wait to try it.
Box of 6 packets @ 1.75 oz (2 boxes per flavor) online retail $5.99 – 1 packet included
Mornings are always chaotic for me. It seems almost impossible to get myself and my daughter ready, drop her off at daycare, and make it to work by 8:00… especially when I hit the snooze button 5 times. I never seem to have enough time to make a healthy breakfast. I love the idea of a single-serve, flavored oatmeal that is packed with nutrients.
Bakery on the Main’s Instant Oatmeal is made from certified gluten-free oats, evaporated cane juice, dried apples, chia seeds, flax meal, quinoa and flavored with cinnamon, lemon juice and sea salt. You just mix it with water, and 90 seconds later, breakfast is ready! I might actually have time for this!
Retail, $4.95 – (included). Ecocentric Moms received 20% off purchases through Dec 31, 14
Once you get in the habit of looking at the sources and materials used in the products you buy, it’s easy to see why we’re filling up landfills so rapidly. If you like making environmentally-conscious consumer choices, this is the toothbrush for you. It is made from eco-friendly bamboo, and it is dentist approved. It even comes packaged in recycled material. The toothbrush is organic, nontoxic and BPA free!
Duck & Goose Find a Pumpkin
$6.99 on Amazon – (included)
Duck & Goose is a cute, hard-backed story book about a duck and a goose that are searching for a pumpkin. It’s a seasonal book, that will go great in Elle’s collection, until our new little one arrives.
29ml retail, $75; 3ml sample included, $7. Coupon included for 20% off through Oct 31.
Jillian Wright’s Breakout Blocker Serum is a chemical-free, organic serum that is made with probiotics, Chinese herb and tea tree oil. It’s an anti-aging serum for combination, oily and congested skin.
This formula is paraben, phthalate, and sulfate-free.
2oz travel size – retail $4 (included). Coupon included for 10% off through November 1
Salon Solids is a pretty cool concept. They come in both shampoo and conditioner, and contain biodegradable granules. You just add hot water, shake well, and use as you would any other shampoo or conditioner. This delivery allows Salon Solids to be made from 100% plant based ingredients, free from petrochemicals, synthetic fragrances, preservatives and plastic waste.
Silk Smoothing Gel 15ml – retail $85; Silk Hydrating Serum 30 ml – retail $60. Two 3ml samples included. Coupon included for 40% off through October 31.
The thing I like best about this product is its simplicity. The silk smoothing gel only contains 4 ingredients: water, silk, vitamin c, lemongrass or rosemary essential oil. The addition of Vitamin C helps to promote collagen and reverse the signs of aging, and leaves your skin feeling smooth. The silk hydrating serum is made from water, silk, hyaluronic acid and lemongrass essential oil. The silk helps stabilize and protect the skin while sealing in moisture without the use of harsh chemical preservatives.
Eyeshadow quad retail $39.99 – included. Coupon included for 15% off.
This is the first 100% natural eye shadow I have tried, and I love it. It’s long lasting, smudge-free, crease-free, and it blends well. The quad I received came in 4 earthy, shimmery colors that work well for daytime or night time wear. It goes on smooth and leaves beautiful color and coverage.
This month’s Ecocentric Mom Box Review was full of goodies to try, and a ton of savings and coupons. The value of the eye shadow alone was almost double the cost of the box (shipped!), so this is a great value!
