Fellowes Shredder – The Perfect Gift for Dads and Grads

For many excited high school seniors around the country, graduation is right around the corner!  It is an exciting time of new ventures, independence, and fun!  It is also getting close to Father’s Day, where we get to celebrate all of the great dads in our lives, whether it be our dads, granddads, or the father of our children.

One of the most useful gifts you can get the dad or grad on your shopping list is a Fellowes Shredder.  With a Fellowes M-12C, you can give the gift of organization, and help your loved one stay on top of office clutter and schoolwork!  You can also help keep their identities safe, thanks to the M-12C’s Cross-Cut blades, that turns 12 sheets of paper into 302 particles per sheet!  That can give dads and grads real peace of mind while shredding documents with sensitive financial or personal information!

Why the Fellowes M-12C Shredder is the Perfect Gift for Dads and Grads

We have been using our Fellowes M-12C shredder for several months now, and absolutely love it!  My husband, especially.  I am not sure why, but there is something therapeutic about shredding papers for him!  We get so many credit card offers in the mail, along with doctor’s receipts and information on our daughter’s school, so we make sure to keep our information safe by shredding anything that we wouldn’t want a stranger to have access to.

Our favorite feature of the Fellowes M-12C shredder is the SafeSense Technology, which automatically turns off the shredder when hands touch the paper opening.  I can’t tell you how much this is appreciated in a home with little children!  We can feel safe keeping the shredder in an area that’s easy for us to access, without worrying about our 4-year-old hurting herself, accidentally.

The M-12C will shred more than just paper, too.  It shreds credit cards, paper clips, staples and junk mail with ease (tell your grads to shred credit cards and stay out of debt!), and it will run for 5 minutes before an automatic cool down.

Having a shredder easily accessible for dads and grads can help keep them organized, and prevent stacks of papers from piling up.  By helping them minimize clutter and staying organized, your loved one can enjoy increased productivity all year long.

What Documents Need to be Shred

Keeping sensitive and private documents out of the hands of strangers is extremely important.  As a good rule of thumb, any document that contains information you wouldn’t tell a complete stranger should be destroyed.

Additionally, any document that contains any of the following information should be shred:

  • Social Security numbers
  • Account numbers
  • Passwords or PIN numbers
  • Birth dates
  • Signatures
  • Names
  • Addresses
  • Phone Numbers
  • Email addresses
  • Medical Records

Where to Buy the Fellowes M-12C Shredder

You can find this high-quality, durable shredder at Target Stores nationwide, or on their website, Target.com, for $99.99, which is a bargain, in my opinion!  One case of stolen identity can easily cost you a tremendous amount more than that!

Keep up with Fellowes by following them on their Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and Instagram pages!

We use our shredder all the time. Having experienced identity theft, I can’t stress how important it is to shred everything. We own a Fellowes shredder and it’s able to handle everything we throw at it with no problems and has been going strong for over 4 years.

Wow, this is a nice shredder. I have been wanting to get a shredder for my home for a long time and just wasn’t sure what brand to look for.

I agree, the price is really reasonable! We bought a “bargain” shredder years ago and it lasted all of two months. For a heavy duty one that will shred credit cards and handle staples, it’s nearly impossible to find one under $100. I’m sharing this post with my son who is about to go off to college. It’s SO important for people to understand how easily their information can be obtained by others who can do horrible damage to credit, reputation, and their personal lives. Thanks for sharing this!
