Personal Trainer Food vs Nutrisystem
I’m on my third week of the Personal Trainer Food system, and got to try something cool this week! I had the opportunity to compare two weight loss systems: Personal Trainer Food and Nutrisystem. I wanted to share my experience for anyone who is trying to decide between the two programs.
A Day on Nutrisystem
Nutrisystem’s program consists of:
- Breakfast – A Harvest Nut Bar
- Lunch – A Trail Mix Bar
- Dinner – Mac and Cheese with Turkey Sausage
- Snack – Peanut Butter Cookie
My Thoughts on Nutrisystem
My honest initial thoughts when I looked at the food for Nutrisystem was — is that it? I have a fairly normal appetite, and knew just by looking at the meals that I was going to be hungry throughout the day.
I am also a huge fan of whole foods that are minimally processed, so the fact that all of the foods were packaged, and that there didn’t appear to be any fresh vegetables, was a little disconcerting.
The food tasted okay — it was more processed than I am used to eating, but it was definitely edible.
I wasn’t actually able to make it through the day on Nutrisystem without supplementing in some whole fresh veggies as snacks.
Would I try Nutrisystem as a Weight Loss Program? No — I don’t believe this would be a sustainable weight loss program for me. I would also be concerned that my body wasn’t getting enough nutrients from whole vegetables.
A Day on Personal Trainer Food
Personal Trainer Food’s program consists of:
- Breakfast – A Western Omelet with Maple Sausage
- Lunch -Buffalo Ranch Chicken Sticks with Green Zucchini
- Dinner – Butter Roasted Chicken Breast with Nantucket Blend
- Snack – An apple, Mozzarella String Cheese, & Pumpkin Seeds

My Thoughts on Personal Trainer Food
The food is delicious and filling! Each meal comes in portioned servings, which are warmed up in less than 3 minutes. The entrees are good-sized and seasoned well. The vegetables are frozen, then steamed, and taste fresh.
I also love the variety of food that I get with Personal Trainer Food. I get to choose from over 75 restaurant quality menu items to satisfy any craving I’m having that day.
Would I try Nutrisystem as a Weight Loss Program? Definitely! When the food is filling, tastes great, and I feel like my body isn’t deprived of essential nutrients, I feel this is definitely a sustainable weight loss program.
