The most wonderful time of the year is upon us! This year, I am getting a head start on my Christmas shopping for my kiddos, instead of waiting for Black Friday or Cyber Monday.  I still want to find great deals though, so I am doing my online shopping through! is a website that compiles all of the sales for top retailers in one site, so you don’t have to go hunting for bargains and the best deals.  It has helped me save money, time and energy, and I find all of the best Cyber Monday promotions.  On, you will find hundreds of special offers, exclusive promotions, and during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, they will have a Deal of the Hour on the front page, highlighting a different retail promotion every hour.  Some great deals you will find on their site includes free shipping, discounts, dollars and percentages off, and free gifts!

Stockings are probably my favorite present to buy for my kids.  I love that small trinkets can be put together in a sock or stocking, and watching my children pull out treasures is so much fun!  I have already filled half of my kid’s stockings by finding great deals on!

A couple weeks ago, I wrote a post on stocking stuffer ideas for little girls, and today I wanted to share my top 10 stocking stuffers for children, in case you need some ideas on what to include for your kiddos!

Top 10 Stocking Stuffers for Kids

Fuzzy Warm Socks

Socks make excellent stocking stuffers, because everyone loves fuzzy, warm and soft socks! Especially during the winter months.  They are easy to stuff into the bottom of a stocking! I was able to stock up on a sale for fuzzy socks from Walmart, after finding special deals through

Crayons or Markers

Crayons are very economical (some packs cost less than $1) and are great for children of all ages, and even adults!  Markers are great as well, or you can even do both, and include a coloring book or sketch pad to go with it.

Every kid loves bubbles, regardless of the age.  I even enjoy playing with bubbles, and I’m in my thirties!  Bubbles are fun, inexpensive and they make for joyful photographs.

Hat and Mittens

Hats and mittens are a necessity for the winter months, and they come in a variety of designs, colors and sizes.  They’re a great addition to any child’s stocking.  I found hats and mittens for both kiddos at Old Navy, and showed me a promo code where I was able to get 30% off my purchase!

For as long as I remember, I have received a toothbrush in my stocking.  There are so many different designs and characters on toothbrushes these days that your kids will be excited to get a toothbrush in their stocking!  Plus, it promotes good oral hygiene, which is an added bonus for the parents 😉

For kids over 4 or 5, legos are a great addition to a stocking.  They come in small packs, usually for around $5, and are the perfect size for a stocking.  I bought my daughter a few small lego sets through ToysRUs, and helped me get free shipping on my purchase!

Playing Cards

For the younger kids, a pack of Old Maid or Crazy 8 cards is a great game to include in the stocking.  For older kids, a deck of playing cards is great for a variety of games (and for practicing card tricks!).

Snacks / Candy

Of course every stocking needs snacks and/or candy!  Some snack ideas are dye-free fruit snacks, gold fish, granola bars, and wrapped cookies.

Books are an excellent addition to everyone’s stocking, from babies to grandparents!

Gift Cards

I don’t know a single person that doesn’t love to pick out their own presents, so gift cards are an excellent way to do that.  I usually include an itunes gift card in my daughter’s stocking, so she can download games on her ipad, but food gift cards are great for older kids as well.

This is always the hardest part of Santa’s decision making at the holidays. Stockings are so hard to plan for. I’m thrilled that you’ve provided some ideas for everyone on my list.

  2. I do most of these as stocking stuffers! My son’s usually has a stuffed animal or two as well and some Hot Wheels, and my daughter’s I usually put nail polishes/hair accessories. I usually end up with too much stuff and have some extras hanging out around the stockings 🙂

  3. I’ve done 7 or 8 of these things for ‘stuffers. It’s neat how ordinary socks or a toothbrush is made more exciting when it comes from Santa!

All good ideas. We always do a toothbrush too! Of course, we usually throw some delicious Italian candy in there too so they need it!
