Dairy Free Fruit Dip
Entertaining for a large group of people, when you are dealing with food allergies, can be a challenge. Many of the traditionally easy party food staples are out of the question. No cheese and crackers, no chips and dip, no little sandwiches… you catch my drift. If you are the guest at a party and you have gluten, nut, dairy or other allergies, you will probably spend a portion of your time staring at the appetizer tray hoping to find something to eat only to walk away with a plate filled with plain fruit or vegetables, while everyone else enjoys the world famous brie and some tasty looking bruschetta. No matter how hard you try to avoid it, that celery stick will probably taste a little bit like jealousy.
I have been there, but allergy-friendly appetizers are actually not that hard to find, you just need to think outside of the box. Think sandwiches with cucumber slices in place of bread, guacamole dip in place of cheese, or something completely divine like these bacon-wrapped dates! These yummy ideas will please the adults at your party, but what about the little ones or the party guest with a sweet tooth? That is where this yummy fruit dip comes in! Free of dairy, nuts, seeds, and refined sugar, this dip is a snap to make and will please everyone! 1 cup of Coconut Butter (melted)
¾ cup of Full Fat Coconut Milk
¼ cup of Honey
½ tsp Vanilla Extract (optional)
½ tsp Cinnamon
Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and stir until combined. Serve immediately at room temperature. To store, keep it in a closed container in the refrigerator for up to a week. The dip will harden slightly when cold, so allow it to warm slightly and soften before serving.
