DIY Cinnamon Lip Scrub
The best part about making a homemade lip scrub at home is that you probably already have everything that you need right in your kitchen. Not only does this save you time from having to run to the store, but it proves that beauty doesn’t have to be expensive or stressful to do.
I’ve made this a lot and found that you have two options when it comes to using up your lip scrub. First, you can make it and use it right away, or you can store it in a sealed jar/container and put it in your fridge to use for later (it should last for up to 2 weeks).
DIY Cinnamon Lip Scrub
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3 drops essential oil (preferably cinnamon blend)
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp Vitamin E oil
- 1 tbsp sugar
Combine all the above ingredients in a small bowl or store it in a container until you’re ready to use it.
Once ready to use, rub gently into the lips for 30 – 60 seconds. Rinse well with warm water. You can also add a dollop of coconut oil or a good homemade lip balm when you’re all done.
If you’re not a fan of using cinnamon or you just don’t care for the flavor, you can also make this homemade lip scrub with coffee and honey. It’s a fun spin and just goes to show that there are many ways to make a lip scrub at home.

How it works:
You can make a lip scrub using a wide variety of ingredients but here is a bit of info about why I chose a few the ones that I did:
- The addition of coconut oil is a natural moisturizer, and it can help to heal dead or dry skin quickly.
- The sugar is a simple and easy exfoliant and gives it just a nice overall sweet flavor to make it more enjoyable.
