Treat Dry Hands
Sometimes my hands can get dry, rough and in need of some intense moisture and exfoliation. When this happens, I run to my kitchen and whip up a batch of DIY Sugar Hand Scrub! This is one of the easiest natural body products you can make at home, and you can make a month’s supply in only a couple of minutes, and for less than a couple dollars.
This DIY sugar hand scrub works best when you rinse it with warm water after scrubbing. It is ultra moisturizing, leaving your hands soft without the need of lotion. It also exfoliates and helps get rid of any rough, dead skin on your palms.
About the Ingredients
I use olive oil, as it’s easy to work with and inexpensive. If you’d prefer to use coconut oil, fractionated coconut oil, or any other type of carrier oil (such as grapeseed, almond, jojoba), they’ll work great in this recipe, too!
The addition of lavender essential oil makes this a calming and therapeutic blend. Some research has shown that lavender essential oil can aid in lowering blood pressure and heart rate.
I use organic sugar cane because the granules are larger than in regular sugar, but you can use either for this recipe. You could also substitute in salt, for a more gentle diy hand scrub.
Not Just for the Hands
This scrub works great on the hands, but it can also be used as a DIY foot scrub or body scrub. I have a 10 simple exfoliating face scrubs, if you’re looking for something a little more mild to use on the delicate facial skin.
