Did you know that an Egg Hair Mask is such a simple way to bring some life and shine back to your hair? And who doesn’t have eggs that are easily available to use?
Below you’ll find some very simple hair mask recipes that will have your hair shining in no time at all.
Benefits of an Egg Hair Mask
All hair masks will have some sort of benefit to your hair but an egg hair mask is known for a couple of things.
Shine: Eggs are used to help add a beautiful shine to your hair and make it look healthy after just one application.
Strength: Using eggs on your hair can be a great way to repair your broken down hair and give it some much-needed strength, too.
Egg Hair Mask
If you’re looking for new ways to use up the eggs that are in your fridge, one of these simple hair mask recipes might be just what you’re looking for.
Egg Hair Mask for Growth
- 1 egg
- 1 banana
- 3 Tablespoons of milk
- 3 Tablespoons of honey
- 5 Tablespoons of olive oil
Start by beating the egg and then add in the mashed banana and other ingredients. Apply to your hair and let sit for for a few moments. Rinse and wash with your favorite shampoo.
This hair mask will give your hair shine and restore some of the strength that has been lost over the years.
Egg Hair Mask for Oily Hair
- Egg Whites (2-3 depending on your hair length)
- Olive Oil (1/4 cup or so, again depending on your hair length)
Beat together the egg whites and olive oil and apply directly to your hair. Once it’s been applied, let it sit on your hair for about 20 minutes. Then, rinse out with cool water and shampoo as normal. (It also helps to have your hair be a little bit damp when you apply as well.)
These two ingredients will help remove excess oil and leave your hair looking shiny and grease-free.
Egg Hair Mask for Dry Hair
- 1 egg
- 1 Tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 teaspoon of honey
Take and combine all the ingredients together. Apply to your hair and let it sit for 40 minutes. Once the time has passed, rinse out.
These three ingredients will add a shine to your hair that will make it look more alive without a greasy look.
Which part of the egg is good for the hair mask?
If your hair is normal, you can actually use the entire egg for your mask. If your hair is a bit greasy, you’re going to want to use only the egg white for the majority of your hair around your scalp so it doesn’t produce more oil.
How often should I do egg hair mask?
Monthly is probably sufficient when it comes to doing an egg hair mask. You don’t want to do it too much as it could make your own have a build-up.
