Homemade Lip Mask
Using a lip mask is a simple way to hydrate your lips and make them look soft and smooth. Think of it in the same way that a face mask would work on your face, except it’s doing that process to your mouth.
Most people actually have all the ingredients in their cabinets to make their very own DIY lip mask at home!
Homemade Lip Mask
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil
All you need to do is mix together all the ingredients in a small bowl and apply to your lips. Gently rub it around and make certain that your lips are fully covered.
Gently scrub for a few moments of time, but not to where you’re actually irritating your lips. You can even let it sit for a while as while to soak up some of that moisture. Just wipe off once down, and that’s it.
Some people like to apply a little bit of coconut oil after using the homemade lip mask but that is totally up to you. Coconut oil is a great moisturizer and doesn’t have a bad taste associated with it, either.
Once you’ve used the lip mask, you should notice that your lips are softer and smoother. Just apply some lip balm and you’re ready to walk out the door.

How it works:
The best part about this lip mask is that it’s a simple and easy process.
- The sugar that is added will help to gently scrub away any dried or dead skin that you have on your lips and the added oils will put into some moisture to make your lips shine.
How often should you use a homemade lip mask?
Once per week is enough and some people find that once every couple of weeks is sufficient.
It really comes down to how your lips are feeling and if they need it. If they’re super dry, use the lip mask recipe and see if it helps. If after a week you need to do it again, do so!
Just make certain to stop if your lips become irritated or tender.

Hi Thena, is it possible to make a larger batch and store? How long would we be able to store the balm?
