Do you ever have those days where you go all day, non-stop, and somehow 5 o’clock has rolled around and you have nothing planned for dinner?
I have them regularly! And because my children need to be fed, I have kind of mastered the 30-minute meal.
Today I wanted to share one of my family’s absolute favorite 30-minute meals – Instant Pot Honey Soy Pork Tenderloin.

Instant Pot Honey Soy Pork Tenderloin
This Instant Pot Honey Soy Pork Tenderloin is super easy to make!
You start by combining soy sauce, water, honey, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sesame oil in the instant pot.
You add a pork tenderloin into the sauce, close the valve to “sealed” and cook on high pressure for 7 minutes.
Let it naturally release, which takes another 7 minutes, then remove the pork.
To thicken the remaining sauce, combine 2 teaspooons of cornstarch with 2 teaspoons of water and pour it into the sauce. Set the Instant Pot to saute, and cook until thickened, about 2 minutes.
Slice the pork tenderloin and pour the sauce over the top.
I love to serve this over steamed rice, zoodles, or both!
Then garnish the top with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Yikes! My pork tenderloin is frozen. Should I increase the cook time and if so, how much time should I add?
Hi Kathy – if our pork tenderloin is frozen, I’d recommend cooking at 20 minutes and letting it naturally release for 20 minutes, before serving.
Can I use powdered ginger if I don’t have fresh? TIA
Hi Robin – I haven’t substituted powdered ginger for fresh, but the ratio for that substitution is 1/8 to 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger = 1 tablespoon fresh ginger. I’d start on the smaller side, and add to taste.
This is amazing! I followed the recipe exactly and it was perfect.
Loved this the first time I made it looking to double the recipe as I am feeding more people this time. Should I change my cooking time? Probably using about 3lbs of pork.
Dont have instapot…how would I make this in regular oven?
Hi Crystal,
Add the pork tenderloin to a baking dish. Mix all of the sauce ingredients together, then pour it over the pork. I would recommend baking it at 400 degrees for 20 – 25 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees.
O.M.G. Thank you, thank you! This was so easy to make, and that sauce is liquid gold! I am going to add this to a regular rotation. Easy and perfect!
Delicious and so easy! I did use 2/3 cup of water, that was all I did differently! Husband loved the dish.
Can you use pork chops instead of tenderloin?
Hi Aj – yes, you can substitute chops instead of tenderloins – just double check the instant pot cooking time, because pork chops will need to be cooked for a shorter period of time than a tenderloin.
Recipe looks delicious. Pork tenderloin and pork loin are two different cuts of meat that require different cooking times. The title says tenderloin but your ingredients say loin. Which were you actually using?
Hi Gregg –
Sorry about that! This recipe is for pork tenderloin, not pork loin. I’ve updated the recipe.
I have never used my Instant pot before, but I would like to try this recipe first! Maybe it is implied, but am I right to assume that the pork tenderloin is frozen?
this recipe looks tasty and I’ll be making it tonight! but I also wanted to point out that the recipe says pork tenderloin, the pic of the packaged pork says pork loin….which i think are different cuts. (though I say think cause I am not a butcher 🙂 )
Made it and my family loved it. Thanks
I had a 2.5 lb pork loin, which was actually 2 loins packaged together. I cooked them 14 minutes, then sliced into medallions and then cooked another 14 minutes. They were nice and tender!
Did you place the pork on the trivet or just straight into the pot? I’m doing 2 pieces of meat also
Hi Ana – I put the pork tenderloin straight into the pot. Hope your dish came out great!
Does this really only take 7 mins on high pressure??
Cathy – yes, that is all it takes for 1.5 pound tenderloin. If the tenderloin is larger, you will need to increase the time. Hope that helps!
Yummm! Looks amazing!
Looks delicious would love to try and make this. I enjoy new dishes and so does my family.
Oooooh nom nom this is looking fantastic and making me so hungry! This looks delicious! I can’t wait to try this recipe!
