Thanks to First Day Vitamins for providing a sample of your yummy vitamins for this post!
When you’re a parent, finding the best multivitamin for kids can be challenging. When we were kids, I am pretty sure Flinstones Vitamins pretty much dominated the market, but for our kids, we have so many {better} options.

Best Multivitamin for Kids
Every time I look for multivitamins for my kids, there are some key criteria I look for:
- They must be made with ingredients that I know.
- Their vitamins must be free of artificial colors, flavors, and other unnecessary ingredients like sorbitol and carrageenan.
- They can’t be cross contaminated with nuts (my daughter has an allergy).
- They have to taste good enough for my kids to actually eat them.
I have tried a lot of different vitamins for my kids in my tenure as a parent, and the best multivitamin for kids I have found is First Day Kids Multivitamin Yummy Gummies.
First Day Multivitamins for Kids
First Day passes all of my vitamin tests:
- They’re made with an organic fruit and vegetable blend, including carrots, cherries, beets, spinach, and kale. They’ve created a smarter formula that gives kids the micronutrients they are most likely to lack.
- They’re free from synthetic colors, high-fructose corn syrup, GMOs, and artificial flavors and preservatives.
- Kids with allergies to gluten, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, and wheat can safely enjoy them! They’re also vegetarian.
- My kids love the taste!
- Bonus feature: they come in the most adorable, recyclable container. When my vitamins run out, we are going to use the container to plant succulents!

It gives me peace of mind knowing that if they don’t eat all (or if I’m being totally honest, any) of their daily veggies, their growing bodies are still being nourished with First Day kids multivitamins.

Switched to FD. Seen a definite improvement in my daughter’s behavior after 3 weeks.
My kids tried Hiya for a few months. I was sold on the idea of zero sugar but after further research, the “sugar” could be a potential higher risk. I got them FD gummies instead and they absolutely loved them!
My doctor also recommended First Day Life given their formulation. Way better for you than Hiya or other brands. My kids love them too!
Agree with the other commenters! We tried first day (and like five others!) yet we officially switched to Hiya maybe six months ago and absolutely love it for our two girls.
Hiya is the healthiest vitamin we’ve found and the customer service is fantastic. Really no need to look for others.
I’m similar to some of the commenters here. We tried first day AND hiya. I liked the feel of first day but my kids didn’t like the taste.
Hiya had amazing customer service and seemed to be completely current with all the scientific trends from my functional doctor.
I wanted to like first day but I’d definitely go with Hiya.
After reading these comments, I decided to try for myself…both First Day and Hiya. Here are my thoughts!
First Day has a cute brand and tastes decent. It inclides added sugar but not too much. But they’re really just more of the same problem —a candy gummy pretending to be good for your kids when the vitamin levels are low and limited.
Hiya was the clear winner for us. I checked with my daughter’s pediatrician and she said Hiya’s label was much cleaner with higher levels across the board, and I trust her. She said while First Day seems to be more about filling in some basic gaps in nutrition, Hiya provides more optimal numbers for my daughter. And I love that it’s zero sugar – so it’s really more vitamin than candy.
Anyway you probably can’t go wrong but I’d choose Hiya.
Hi-do you still recommend First Day vitamins? My 7.5 and 4.5 year old both started taking the Organic Smartypants multi vitamin, but my 4.5 year old hates the taste. Does this one taste better? I want something healthy, meaning not loaded with sugar and hopefully doesn’t cause cavities since it’s a gummy.
Thanks,
Tina
Have you tried Hiya? It’s adorable!
Hiya makes a tasty kid’s vitamin that I think is better than First Day.
And it’s not a gummy, which is good because our dentist says gummy vitamins cause cavities and I don’t like how gummies teach out kids to associate candy with vitamins.
Anyway, we just got our Hiya vitamins and our two girls LOVE them. So I think that’s a good option. 🙂

Interesting! Our friend just bought Hiya for her two kids and was saying the same thing — she LOVES them.
Same here!
Our pediatrician gave a huge recommendation for Hiya (I think it’s also called Hiya Health) and said it was the best children’s vitamin on the market, so we bought it online, and now our two girls are absolutely obsessed. 🙂
