On a keto diet, but still craving sweets? Try these keto truffles made with cream cheese, butter, bacon, and maple syrup!

About 4 1/2 years ago, my son was born, and thanks to breastfeeding, I rapidly lost all of the baby weight, plus a few more pounds.
But then I went through a divorce, became a single mom, and moved to a new city – and with all of the rapid changes that happened in my life, I gained weight steadily over the next few years.
When I feel madly in love a few years later, and got engaged, I was determined to lose the extra 25 pounds I was carrying around.
I started counting calories, but after a few months, I hadn’t made any progress. I spoke to a few friends who had enormous success with the keto diet, and finally decided to try it.
Over 4 months, I lost 20 pounds with ease. Each day, I saw the number on the scale getting smaller, and I found I had more energy and a clearer complexion.

Why Keto?
Bottom line: for many people, keto = weight loss, more energy, better digestive health.
I never expected a “fad” diet to be so effective, but it has been the most effective, easiest-to-follow diet I have ever tried.

I even found that after about 2 weeks, I stopped craving bread and potatoes (and I really, really loved potatoes).

My cravings for sweets also significantly decreased, although I would occasionally get a longing for a piece of cheesecake. Or tiramisu.

But, I learned that sweet cravings can be easily satisfied with low-carb options! I introduce you to the keto truffle!
It’s made with satiating cream cheese, butter, and 16 whole ounces of crispy, savory, crumbly bacon.
Keto Truffles with Bacon and Maple

To make these delectable, satisfying truffles, add maple flavoring to the mixture and mix until blended.
In a separate bowl, combine vanilla and Stevia, then pour into the cream cheese mixture. Mix to combine.
Place the mixture in the fridge for one hour. Meanwhile, cook the bacon until crisp and cooked through. Allow to cool, then crumble bacon into a shallow dish.
Remove the cream cheese mixture from the fridge. Form into round truffles, each about 1 tablespoon in size.

Roll the truffles in the bacon, then place on a cookie sheet. Once done, place in fridge for at least 2 hours before enjoying.

Note: Store any remaining truffles in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
